Matthew 23:24-28 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
On occasion I will use the term “Spiritual Balls” that could rightfully be categorized as a gnat, especially considering all the camels we have roaming all across this nation. It may be a little course or seemingly vulgar to some. But this is what I find coarse and vulgar-
-We are murdering unborn children by the millions
-We have destroyed the family because of selfishness and lust
-Pornography, sexual sin and deviance, and drunkenness is an epidemic
-We have become arrogant and greedy
-We spend more time being entertained by music and movies that contradict and attack the Word of God
-Millions daily are slipping off the cliff of eternity into a Christless Hell
All these camels and we want to strain at a gnat! Especially a gnat that is intended to irritate you towards action. Why, because the spiritual apathy of this nation is sickening. Wake up people! And grow some spiritual balls! Some may ask “what do you mean by balls?”
I originally posted this statement with a visual of a prescription bottle that said “Balls- Take two and call the Doc immediately!” The post was addressed to men. Why? Because we are living in a day when women (God bless their souls) are the spiritual leaders. You say- How is this possible? The majority of our churches have male pastors? And my response is- And your point is? One man on the team who may or may not be just collecting a pay check does not constitute men leading their churches.
Look at the demographics of our churches today. Who are the predominant attendees? Women. When work has to get done, who is predominantly in the trenches? Women. Most all women have no problem with a man leading them spiritually, they just want to be loved, respected, and not used as a door mat! The bottom line is this- Men in our country need to grow a pair and start being the spiritual leaders that God has intended them to be.
I responded to some of the negative feedback on The Soldier’s Sanctuary FB with this-
“This page is no popularity contest. We supposedly have 159 million “Christians” in this country and we are going to Hell in a hand basket. So if “growing a pair” offends you, you might want to grow something…because what you have is not making the cut. Wake up people!”
When someone has guts or balls, they have moxy. Here is an online definition of Moxy-
An attitude of fearlessness in everyday circumstances. The capacity to stand alone in favor of an unpopular opinion or course of action with a casual demeanor.
What are you trying to say? Simply, quit be an armchair general preacher by directing your fires at a gnat of a social media post and get in the trenches and do some real fighting! When is the last time you stood outside of an abortion clinic and held a protest sign? When is the last time you called your congressmen or sent a note of your opposition against same sex marriage? When is the last time you turned off a movie that used the Lord’s name in vain or used real vulgarity? When is the last time you contributed to the Fatherless and widows? When is the lat time you comforted or visited the sick and dying in the hospital? When is the last time you handed out a Gospel tract or mentioned the name of Jesus in public? So until you eliminate all your camels I would conserve you ammo and quit wasting it on targeting gnats!
Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
The problem with church people today is that they conquer a gnat and they want to brag about it to their fellow gnat killers. They say “Brother, you should have seen how I reamed out some heathen on the internet for using the word balls, HAHA it was great!”… “By the way Brother have you seen such and such movie?” The same movie which happens to flash women’s body parts, use the Lord’s name in vain 10 times, and use profanity multiple times. Listen here hypocrite! Like I said before until you remove the camels leave the gnats alone because on one hand you think your killing them, but in reality you are breeding them.
Why are you preaching this message. Why? Because I want to call you to action. One of the greatest quotes I have come upon regardless who stated it is-
“The essential thing is action. Action has three stages. The decision born of thought, the order or preparation for execution, and the execution itself. All three stages are governed by will. The will is rooted in character, and for the man of action character is more critical importance than intellect. Intellect without will is worthless, will without intellect is dangerous.” GEN Hans von Seeckt
Listen, if you want to attack my message do it with action and not words. In other words inspire me with your service to God and others and maybe out of respect I will look closer to what you have to say. Otherwise I am sticking with the Word of God and what He lays on my heart. I will not and do not answer to your weak criticism and my only prayer is that you will invest your energy in God’s glory and not your own.
How about you? Are you a gnat killer or a camel killer? Men! Do you have a pair of “spiritual balls”? If not, it my prayer that today you will be born again by the Spirit of God and will grow some through the exercise of prayer, Bible study, Christian fellowship, and service to God and others. Otherwise have fun killing gnats because they never run out and will keep you busy for eternity.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
